Attention: Perform all operations only after stopping the engine.
Make sure that the indicator (C) (groove on the fixed side) the automatic drive belt tensioner is within the permissible operating range (B) shown in the figure.
Note.
- Check the automatic drive belt tensioner indicator on a cold engine.
- When installing a new drive belt, the indicator (groove on the fixed side) must be within the appropriate range (B) shown in the figure.
- Visually inspect the drive belt for wear, damage or cracks.
- If the indicator (groove on the fixed side) is out of the permissible range or the drive belt is damaged, replace the belt with a new one.
Caution: The automatic drive belt tensioner and idler pulley must be replaced with new ones every time the drive belt is changed.
Adjusting the tension of the drive belt is required because the belt is automatically adjusted by the auto-tensioner.
