Attention. Carry out all operations only after the engine has stopped.
Make sure the indicator (WITH) (notch on the fixed side) drive belt automatic tensioner is within the allowable operating range (IN), shown in the figure.
Note.
- Check the indication of the automatic drive belt tensioner on a cold engine.
- When installing a new drive belt, the indicator (notch on the fixed side) must be in the appropriate range (IN), shown in the figure.
- Visually inspect the drive belt for wear, damage or cracks.
- If the indicator (notch on the fixed side) out of range or the drive belt is damaged, replace the belt with a new one.
Attention. The automatic drive belt tensioner and idler pulley must be replaced with new ones each time the drive belt is replaced.
Adjusting the tension of the drive belt is required, since the eye is automatically adjusted by the auto-tensioner.
