Attention.
- Replace the drive belt with a new one after each removal.
- The automatic drive belt tensioner and idler pulley must be replaced with new ones each time the drive belt is replaced.
- Do not run the engine without the drive belt to avoid damage to the crankshaft pulley.
Removing
1. Remove the drive belt.
Note. Do not remove the locking pin after the drive belt has been removed.
2. Remove the automatic drive belt tensioner.
3. Remove cover and parasitic pulley.
4. Remove the multifunction support bracket:
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Remove generator.
- Remove the A/C compressor from the engine without disconnecting the lines. Temporarily fix the compressor to the car body with a rope in order to unload the hoses and pipes.
- Remove the multifunction support bracket.
Note. Loosen the mounting bolts in the reverse order to that shown in the figure. The bolts are tightened in the sequence shown in the figure.
The arrow points towards the front of the engine.
Installation
Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
