Attention. Checking the belts is carried out exclusively on a cold engine or after half an hour after it has stopped.
1. Visually check the belt for wear, damage and cracks on the inside and around the edges.
2. Turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise twice and make sure that all pulleys rotate before starting to check the belt tension.
3. Apply a force of 98 N (10 kg) at the location marked with an arrow in the figure.
1. Generator.
2. Water pump.
3. Crankshaft pulley.
4. Air conditioning compressor drive pulley (models with air conditioning) or intermediate pulley (models without air conditioning).
5. Tension the pulley.
6. Drive belt.
4. Measure the deflection of the drive belt using a special tool at the point marked with an arrow in the figure.
