1. Remove the camshaft.
2. Remove the valve lifters, the size of the gaps in which does not correspond to the norm.
3. Measure the thickness of the central part of the removed pusher with a micrometer (A).
4. Using the formula below, calculate the thickness of the pusher required to replace:
t = t1 + (C1 - C2),
- where t = thickness of pusher required for replacement;
- t1 = thickness of removed valve lifter;
- C1 = measured valve clearance;
- C2 = standard valve clearance.
Note.
Standard valve clearance:
- Inlet: 0.30 mm.
- Release: 0.33 mm.
Thickness of the new valve lifter (IN) identified as a label (A) from the back of the pusher (inside the cylinder).
For example, label «302» indicates that the thickness of the pusher is 3.02 mm.
Note. There are 26 valve lifter sizes ranging from 3.00 to 3.50 mm in 0.02 mm increments.
5. Install the selected valve lifter.
6. Install the camshaft.
7. Install the timing chain and related parts.
8. Manually turn the crankshaft pulley a few turns.
9. Make sure the valve clearances are correct.
10. Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.
11. Start and warm up the engine to operating temperature and make sure there are no extraneous sounds and vibrations.
