1. Remove the camshaft.
2. Remove the valve tappets whose clearances do not comply with the standard.
3. Measure the thickness of the central part of the removed tappet with a micrometer (A).

4. Using the formula below, calculate the thickness of the tappet required for replacement:
t = t1 + (C1 - C2),
- where t = thickness of the pusher required for replacement;
- t1 = thickness of the extracted valve tappet;
- C1 = measured valve clearance;
- C2 = standard valve clearance.
Note.
Standard valve clearance:
- Inlet: 0.30 mm.
- Issue: 0.33 mm.
The thickness of the new valve tappet (B) is identified by a mark (A) on the back of the tappet (inside the cylinder).

For example, the mark "302" indicates that the thickness of the tappet is 3.02 mm.
Note: There are 26 valve lifter sizes available ranging from 3.00mm to 3.50mm in 0.02mm increments.
5. Install the selected valve lifter.
6. Install the camshaft.
7. Install the timing chain and related parts.
8. Manually turn the crankshaft pulley several revolutions.
9. Make sure that the valve clearances are within the norm.
10. Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.
11. Start and warm up the engine to operating temperature and make sure there are no extraneous sounds or vibrations.
