2. Remove the ring gear shaft assembly from the transfer case housing.
3. Turn the connecting flange back and forth two or three times to check for extraneous noise, jamming or wedging.
4. Rotate the connecting flange at least 20 revolutions to check the smooth operation of the bearing.
5. Using a special tool (A) (ST3127S000) measure the moment of resistance to rotation of the drive gear bearing.

Attention: For smooth rotation of all moving elements, it is necessary that they are lubricated with transmission oil.
Note: If any abnormalities are detected, the pinion shaft must be removed from the transfer case for inspection.
