2. Install the cover layout kit (KV389L0010) on the main gear housing:
- Install the cover template gaskets onto the right and left side bearing adjusting shims.
- Temporarily tighten the cover dummy onto the final drive housing.
- Place the lid mockup spacers on the lid mockup.
- Tighten the rear cover mounting bolts to the specified tightening torques.
- Tighten the cover layout spacer mounting bolts evenly to a torque of 5.9 Nm.
3. Install a dial indicator on the surface of the final drive wheel to measure the backlash.
4. If the obtained value does not correspond to the specified range, change the thickness of the side gear adjusting shims.
Note.
- If the play is too large: note that the rear adjusting lining of the main gear wheel is thicker and the front one is thinner.
- If the play is too small: replace the rear final drive wheel adjusting shim with a thinner one and the front one with a thicker one.
