Thrust bearing (Z100D90+B, B90SFJ90+B)
1. Press the support bearing into the housing using a drift (special tool).
2. Secure the support bearing with the retaining ring.
3. Press the support bearing assembly into the housing using a drift (special tool).

4. Secure the support bearing with a retaining ring.
5. Press in the boot using a brass pin and a flat-head screwdriver.
Caution: Do not deform the boot when pressing it in.
From the wheel side (except B90)
1. Press the signal ring into the hinge assembly using a punch (special tool).
Note: Replace the old sensor signal ring with a new one.
2. Wrap the splined portion of the drive shaft with electrical tape. Install the boot with clamps on the shaft.
Note: Replace old clamps and cover with new ones.
3. Remove the electrical tape wrapped around the splined portion of the shaft.
4. Place the ring clamp on the shaft. It should be firmly fixed in the groove on the shaft. Place the nut on the hinge and press it in using a wooden hammer.
Note: Replace the old ring clamp with a new one.
5. Fill the housing with grease from the wide side of the cover.
- Lubricant quantity: Model Z100: 140±5g
6. Fit the cover firmly into the grooves (marked with *) as shown in the figure.
Caution: If there is grease on the boot mounting surfaces (marked with *) on the hinge, the boot may come off. Remove all grease from the mounting surfaces.
7. Make sure the length of the cover "L" matches the size below. Insert a screwdriver or similar tool under the cover from the narrow side. Release the air from the cover to avoid deformation.
- Cover installation length: Model Z100: 97±1 mm
Attention:
If the length of the cover is shorter than the standard, it may tear.
Do not touch the inside surface of the case with the tip of the screwdriver.
8. Secure the cover on the narrow and wide sides with new clamps as shown in the picture.
Rotate the hinge and make sure the cover does not slide out of place. If it does, reinstall the cover clamps.
If the damper was removed, secure it with clamps as shown in the figure so that the dimensions on the fixed hinge side correspond to those indicated in the table.
Caution: Replace the damper with a new one.
Installation dimensions
From the gearbox side (Z100D90+B, Z100D90)
1. Insert the inner ring from the larger diameter side of the bearing race.
2. Fill the bearing cage cavity with grease, insert 6 balls. Put the cage on the shaft, turn it half a turn and fix it on the shaft.
3. Wrap the splined part of the drive shaft with electrical tape. Install the boot with clamps on the shaft.
Note: Replace old clamps and cover with new ones.
4. Remove the electrical tape wrapped around the splined portion of the shaft.
5. Assemble the cage with the inner ring and steel balls on the shaft and secure tightly with the retaining ring.
Caution: Replace the old retaining ring with a new one.
6. Fill the housing of the movable joint with grease (in the places marked with *) and put the housing on the shaft.
- Amount of grease: Model D90: 170±10g
7. Install the retaining ring onto the housing.
Caution: Replace the retaining ring with a new one.
8. After installation, pull the shaft and make sure the joint assembly and retaining ring are securely locked.
9. Fit the cover firmly into the grooves (marked with *) as shown in the figure.
Caution: If there is grease on the boot mounting surfaces (marked with *) on the hinge, the boot may slip off. Remove all grease from the mounting surfaces.
10. Make sure the cover installation length "L" matches the size below. Insert a screwdriver or similar tool under the cover from the narrow side. Release the air from the cover to avoid deformation.
- Cover installation length: Model D90: 98±1 mm
Attention:
If the installation length of the cover is less than the standard, the cover may tear.
Do not touch the inside surface of the case with the tip of the screwdriver.
11. Secure the cover on the narrow and wide sides with new clamps as shown in the figure.
Rotate the hinge and make sure the cover does not slide out of place. If it does, reinstall the cover clamps.
Gearbox side (Z100T86C, B90SFJ90+B, B90SFJ90), transfer case side (Z100T82F)
1. Model T82F: If the drive shaft plug has been removed, press it in using a drift (special tool).
2. Wrap the splined portion of the drive shaft with electrical tape. Install the boot with clamps on the shaft.
Note: Replace old clamps and cover with new ones.
3. Remove the electrical tape wrapped around the splined portion of the shaft.
4. Align the marks made before removing the crosspiece assembly. Install the crosspiece assembly with the chamfer on the splines facing the drive shaft.
5. Secure the crosspiece assembly with a retaining ring.
Caution: Replace the old retaining ring with a new one.
6. Apply Nissan Genuine Lubricant (see parts list) on the crosspiece assembly and the sliding surface.
7. Install the movable joint housing onto the crosspiece assembly. Apply grease to the amount specified below.
Amount of grease:
- Model T86S: 150±5g
- Model SFJ90: 215±10g
- Model T82F: 100+5g
8. Fit the cover firmly into the grooves (marked with *) as shown in the figure.
Caution: If there is grease on the boot mounting surfaces (marked with *) on the hinge, the boot may slip off. Remove all grease from the mounting surfaces.
9. Make sure that the installation length of the cover "1" matches the length indicated below. Insert a screwdriver or similar tool under the cover from the narrow side. Release the air from the cover to avoid deformation.
Installation length of the cover:
- Model T86S: 102.5±1 mm
- Model SFJ90: 98±1 mm
- Model T82F: 96±1 mm
Attention:
If the installation length of the cover is less than the standard, the cover may tear.
Do not touch the inside surface of the case with the tip of the screwdriver.
10. Secure the cover on the narrow and wide sides with new clamps as shown in the picture.
Rotate the hinge and make sure the cover does not slide out of place. If it does, reinstall the cover clamps.
