Removing
1. Remove the rear axle. See ch. Rear axle and suspension.
Attention: In case of removing the rear axle only to remove the drive shaft assemblies, loosen the fasteners on the trailing arms without unscrewing them. This will make it easier to check and adjust wheel alignment after work is completed.
2. Remove the drive shaft from the final drive using a wheel wrench or similar tool as shown in the figure.
Installation
1. In order not to damage the oil seal on the final drive side, before installing the drive shaft, first install the guard (special tool) on the gland.
Insert the movable joint of the drive shaft and firmly seat with a ring hammer.
Attention: Make sure the ring clamp is firmly fixed.
2. Install the rear axle. See ch. Rear axle and suspension.
