Removing
1. Remove the cotter pin. Loosen the locknut with the hub nut wrench (special tool).
2. Remove the ABS sensor from the steering knuckle.
3. Remove the tie rod from the steering knuckle using a suitable puller.
4. Remove a lock plate from a rack, disconnect a brake hose from a rack.
5. Remove the brake caliper and hang it so that it does not interfere with work.
Attention: After removing the brake caliper, do not press the brake pedal.
6. Turn off fixing bolts of a rotary fist and a rack.
7. Remove the drive shaft from the steering knuckle using a suitable puller.
2WD Models: Remove the support bearing bracket mounting bolts and remove the right drive shaft support bearing.
8. Disconnect the drive shaft from the transmission using a wheel wrench or similar tool as shown.
Attention:
When removing the drive shaft from the vehicle, do not touch it with the brake hose, ABS wheel sensor wires, and other parts.
After removing the drive shaft, make sure the ring clamp is secured.
2WD Models: Loosen the right shaft support bearing bracket mounting bolts and remove it from the engine.
4WD Models: Remove the mounting bolts and remove the axle shaft from the right drive shaft.
Installation
2WD Models: Install the support bearing bracket and tighten the mounting bolts to specification.
4WD models: Install the axle shaft on the right drive shaft and tighten the mounting bolts to the required torque.
1. In order not to damage the differential oil seal, before installing the drive shaft, first install the protection (special tool) on the stuffing box, see fig. on the trail. page Insert the movable joint of the drive shaft and firmly seat with a ring hammer.
Attention: Make sure the ring clamp is firmly fixed.
2WD Models: Insert right drive shaft thrust bearing bracket mounting bolts, install thrust bearing and tighten bolts to specification.
: 13-19 Nm (1.3-1.9 kg m)
2. Insert the drive shaft into the steering knuckle. Tighten the locknut by hand.
3. Establish a rotary fist and tighten fixing bolts of a rack.
4. Install the brake caliper.
5. Install the brake hose and lock plate on the stand.
6. Establish steering draft in a rotary fist.
7. Install the ABS wheel sensor.
8. Tighten the hub locknut to the correct torque using the special tool.
9. Install cotter pin.
Attention: Replace the old cotter pin with a new one.
