ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM)
Anti-lock braking system (ABS) monitors wheel speed during braking and prevents wheel lockup by electronically controlling the brake force (brake fluid pressure). This increases the stability of the vehicle during heavy braking, which makes it easier for the driver to overcome obstacles.
If a malfunction occurs in the electrical system, emergency mode is activated, the ABS system is deactivated and the warning lamp lights up «ABS».
Diagnosis of the electrical system is provided using the CONSULT-II tester.
EBD (ELECTRONIC BRAKE DISTRIBUTION)
Electronic brake force distribution (EBD) is designed to detect the slightest slip between the front and rear wheels during braking and improves vehicle stability during braking by electronically controlling the braking force (brake fluid pressure) on the rear wheels, which reduces the slippage of the rear wheels.
If a malfunction occurs in the electrical system, emergency mode is activated, the EBD and ABS systems are deactivated and the warning lamps come on «ABS» and brake system.
Diagnosis of the electrical system is provided using the CONSULT-II tester
Emergency mode
If there is a malfunction in the ABS electrical system, the warning light in the instrument cluster comes on «ABS».
If a malfunction occurs in the EBD electrical system, the brake system warning lamp and the warning lamp will light up «ABS».
