Anti-theft system NATS
Anti-theft system NATS (NISSAN Anti-Theft System) * allows you to start the engine only using the original NATS ignition key or the NATS system remote control «Intelligent Key», the codes of which are pre-registered in the immobilizer unit.
* Immobilizer
If the engine cannot be started with the standard NATS ignition key, then the cause may be the influence of other NATS keys, the influence of the automatic fare collection device.
- 1. Leave the ignition key or ignition switch in the ON position for approximately five seconds.
- 2. Then turn the key or ignition switch to the OFF or LOCK position and wait approx. 5 seconds.
- 3. Repeat steps 1) and 2) again.
- 4. Start the engine after separating the key or remote «Intelligent Key» from other keys and other devices that could be a source of interference.
If the procedure described above allows you to successfully start the engine, then to eliminate negative interference, it is necessary to separate the NATS ignition key or remote control «Intelligent Key» from other keys and devices.
Anti-theft system indicator
The NATS indicator flashes when the key or ignition switch is turned to the LOCK or ACC position. Flashing the indicator warns that the vehicle has an anti-theft system.
If the normal functioning of the NATS anti-theft system is disturbed, the indicator will light constantly (ignition key ON).
If the indicator does not turn off and/or the engine does not start, have the NATS system checked and repaired by a NISSAN dealer as soon as possible. When heading to the service station, take all NATS ignition keys or remotes with you «Intelligent Key» from your vehicle.
