Anti-theft system NATS
Anti-theft system NATS (NISSAN Anti-Theft System)* allows you to start the engine only with the standard NATS ignition key or NATS system remote control "Intelligent Key", the codes of which are pre-registered in the immobilizer unit.
* Immobilizer
If the engine cannot be started with the standard NATS ignition key, the cause may be the influence of other NATS keys, the influence of the automatic toll collection device.
- 1. Leave the ignition key or ignition switch in the ON position for approximately five seconds.
- 2. Then turn the key or ignition switch to the OFF or LOCK position and wait approximately 5 seconds.
- 3. Repeat steps 1) and 2) again.
- 4. Start the engine, after removing the key or remote control "Intelligent Key" from other keys and other devices that could be a source of interference.
If the above procedure allows you to successfully start the engine, then to eliminate negative interference, it is necessary to separate the NATS ignition key or remote control "Intelligent Key" from other keys and devices.
Anti-theft system indicator

The NATS indicator flashes when the key or ignition switch is turned to the LOCK or ACC position. The indicator flashes to warn you that the vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft system.
If the normal operation of the NATS anti-theft system is disrupted, the indicator will light continuously (ignition key ON).
If the indicator does not go out and/or the engine does not start, contact a NISSAN service station as soon as possible to have the NATS system checked and repaired. When you go to the service station, take all NATS ignition keys or remote controls with you "Intelligent Key" from your car.
