Check of serviceability of control lamps and indicators
Close all doors, apply the parking brake, fasten your seat belts, and turn the ignition key to the ON position without starting the engine. The following indicator lamps should turn on:

If any lamp does not light up during the test, this may mean a burnout or an open circuit in the corresponding lamp. It is urgent to replace the burned-out lamp.
Pilot lamps
Contr, airbag malfunction lamp
After turning the ignition key to the ON or START position, the airbag malfunction indicator lamp should come on for 7 seconds and then turn off. This behavior of the control lamp means that the system is working. If one of the following malfunctions occurs, the airbags and pyrotechnic pretensioners need to be repaired.
- The airbag malfunction indicator lamp illuminates for approx. 7 seconds after ignition on
- Airbag warning light flashes
- Airbag warning light does not come on at all
Until the malfunction is eliminated, an additional passive safety system (SRS) and/or the pyrotechnic pretensioners will not function properly.

Control lamp of malfunction of brake system
This warning lamp/indicator serves both the service brake system and the parking brake.
Parking brake indicator
The indicator lights up after the parking brake is applied
Control lamp of falling of level of a brake liquid
The control lamp warns of a dangerous drop in the level of brake fluid in the brake booster reservoir.
If the warning light comes on while the vehicle is moving with the engine running and the parking brake released, stop the vehicle and do the following:
1. Check the brake fluid level. If necessary, add brake fluid to the reservoir. See section «Maintenance and do-it-yourself operations».
Caution: If the brake fluid level has dropped below the «MIN», which is applied on the wall of the tank, further operation of the car is prohibited until the performance of the brake system of the car is checked at a service station.
2. If the brake fluid level is normal, you should contact a service station to check the brake system malfunction indicator lamp.
Caution: Continuing on your own can be dangerous. To deliver the car to the nearest service station, use the services of a tow truck. If the vehicle is braked with the engine stopped and/or the brake fluid level is insufficient, the braking distance of the vehicle may increase. In addition, the force on the brake pedal and pedal travel will increase.
Battery discharge warning lamp
If the warning lamp comes on with the engine running, this may indicate a malfunction in the battery charging system. Stop the engine and check the condition of the alternator drive belt. If the belt is loose or damaged, if the belt is missing, or if the warning light remains on, contact your dealer immediately.
Attention: It is forbidden to continue driving the car if the belt tension is loose, the belt is torn or missing.
Control lamp of an open door
The control lamp lights up if one of the car doors is not closed or is not closed tightly (ignition key in the ON position).
Control lamp of an overheat of the engine
The temperature of the engine coolant depends on the ambient temperature, conditions and driving mode of the vehicle.
After turning the ignition key to the ON position, the engine overheating warning light comes on for a few seconds and then should go out. This behavior of the warning light means that the system is working properly.
The engine overheat warning light comes on when the coolant temperature reaches approximately 105°C.
Attention: If the warning lamp for engine overheating lights up, then, following the traffic safety rules, immediately stop the car and contact a service station.
In order to reduce engine temperature when towing a trailer or climbing hills, in accordance with traffic safety regulations, immediately reduce the speed of the vehicle.
Continuing to drive when the engine overheats can result in engine failure. See section «In the event of a malfunction», for instructions on emergency actions to be taken by the driver in case of engine overheating.
Do not remove the radiator cap while the engine is hot. Otherwise, there is a risk of burns from hot coolant splashing out of the radiator filler neck.
Control lamp of pressure drop of engine oil
The control lamp warns of a dangerous pressure drop in the engine lubrication system. If the warning light does not go out after starting the engine, or if the warning light comes on and stays on or flashes under normal driving conditions, immediately pull over to a safe place and stop the engine immediately. Then contact the service station immediately for help
Caution: Running the engine while the low oil pressure warning light is on can cause serious damage and engine failure.
The engine oil pressure drop warning light is not designed to indicate a low oil level. Use the dipstick to check the oil level. For more information, see the section "Maintenance and do-it-yourself operations».
Control lamp / malfunction indicator in the engine management system
Malfunction indicator in the engine management system (Ml) (orange color)
The Ml indicator turns on for a few seconds after the ignition key is turned to the ON position. This behavior of the indicator means that the system is working properly.
If the indicator comes on and stays on or flashes while the engine is running, this may indicate a malfunction in the engine control system.
The Ml indicator lights up permanently: this indicates a malfunction in the engine management system. Contact a service station to check and repair engine systems. You can get to the service station on your own without having to tow your car.
Ml indicator flashes (with this feature): Cylinder misfiring has been registered, which may damage the engine management system. To avoid or reduce the risk of damage to the engine control system, follow these instructions:
- Do not exceed the driving speed of 70 km/h.
- Avoid sudden acceleration and braking.
- Avoid driving on steep slopes.
- If possible, unload the vehicle or trailer.
The Ml indicator may stop flashing and become permanently lit.
Contact a service station to check and repair engine systems, you can get to a service station on your own without resorting to towing a car.
Attention: Prolonged operation of the vehicle with the Ml indicator on and a delay in the inspection and necessary repairs will inevitably lead to a deterioration in the traction and dynamic properties of the vehicle, an increase in fuel consumption and failure of the engine management system.
Control lamp of malfunction of a control system of the engine (Red) (if available)
After turning the ignition key to the ON position, the control lamp lights up for a few seconds and then goes out. This behavior of the control lamp means that the system is working.
If the warning light comes on and stays on or flashes while the engine is running, this may indicate a malfunction in the engine management system.
Contact a service station to check and repair engine systems. You can get to the service station on your own without resorting to towing your car.
Attention: Prolonged operation of the vehicle with the warning lamp Ml on and a delay in the inspection and necessary repairs will inevitably lead to a deterioration in the traction and dynamic properties of the vehicle, an increase in fuel consumption and failure of the engine management system.
Contr, malfunction lamp in the electric power steering system (EPAS)
The control lamp turns on after turning the ignition key to the ON position. This behavior of the lamp means that the system is working.
If the control lamp continues to burn after starting the engine, then this means that the electric booster is not working. In this case, the steering continues to function, however, the applied force to turn the steering wheel will be more significant and it is wiser to refuse further travel
Attention:
- If the EPAS malfunction indicator lamp comes on while the vehicle is moving, you should, in accordance with traffic safety regulations, stop as soon as possible.
- In some cases, the activation of the EPAS warning lamp may be affected by external (in relation to power steering) factors. If the warning light comes on, first stop as soon as possible, observing traffic safety regulations. Stop the engine for about 20 seconds, then turn the ignition back on. If the control lamp continues to burn, address to service station.

Control lamp of the switch of ignition (only for vehicles equipped with «Intelligent Key»)
After the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, the warning light comes on for a few seconds and then goes out. This behavior of the control lamp means that the system is working.
The control lamp warns the driver about the position of the ignition switch.
Models with manual gearbox
If the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position, the warning lamp will flash and the buzzer will sound twice at the same time Press the button «PUSH» and turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Models with automatic transmission
If the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position, the warning lamp will flash and the buzzer will sound twice at the same time. Check that the selector is in the P position, then turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

Attention: The steering shaft is locked only when the ignition switch is in the LOCK position. Before leaving the vehicle, make sure the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position. See section «Starting the engine and driving».
The spare emergency key can only be removed from the ignition switch from the LOCK position. Make sure the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position before removing the emergency spare key. See section «Starting the engine and driving».
If the ignition switch warning light comes on while the vehicle is moving, contact a dealer for inspection and repair.
Indicators
NATS Theft Deterrent System Warning Lamp/Indicator
The indicator flashes when the key or ignition switch is turned to the LOCK or Ace position (additional consumers of electricity). When the indicator flashes, the vehicle is equipped with the NATS* anti-theft system. In case of violation of the normal functioning of the anti-theft system (NATS) * the indicator will be constantly on when the ignition is on.

Seat belt indicator and buzzer
The indicator reminds the driver to fasten their seat belt. The indicator lights up each time the ignition key is turned to the ON position. The indicator turns off after fastening the seat belt. The buzzer will sound if the seat belt is not fastened in the front seat and the vehicle speed has exceeded 25 km/h. The alarm goes off after approximately 90 seconds.
Note: The front passenger seat belt warning light is located on the center console. See section «Seats, belts and airbags»
System malfunction indicator and warning lamp «Intelligent Key» (if available)
System indicator «intelligent Key» (Green colour)
The indicator lights up if the ignition key is in the LOCK position with the brake pedal depressed, and the system console «Intelligent Key» is in the vehicle In the Ac position, the indicator goes out.
Note: System indicator «Intelligent Key» may start flashing after turning the ignition switch from OFF to ON, if the system control unit «Intelligent Key» detects low battery voltage.
Indicator «Intelligent Key» turns on to confirm the activation of the anti-theft system. See section «Preparing to start moving».
System Malfunction Indicator Lamp «Intelligent Keu» (Red).
After the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, the warning light comes on for a few seconds and then goes out. This behavior of the control lamp means that the system is working.
Note: If the system remote «Intelligent Key» take out of the car (outside the identification code identification zone ID) through the open door (driver, passenger or tailgate), while the ignition switch is in the ACC or ON position, the system malfunction indicator lamp «Intelligent Key» flashes and the buzzer sounds. These signals warn the driver of the current situation. The indicator lamp will stop flashing as soon as the system remote «Intellient Key» back in the car again.
Indicator «Intelligent Key» turns on to confirm the transition to normal mode. See section «Preparing to start moving»
Attention: If the system malfunction indicator lamp «Intelligent Key» lights up and stays on, this may indicate a system malfunction. Contact a service station for repair.

Control lamp of malfunction of antiblocking brake system (ABS)
The control lamp should light up after turning the ignition key to the ON position. If the anti-lock braking system is working, the control lamp should go out after approx. 1 second.
If the warning lamp comes on while the engine is running, this may indicate a malfunction of the anti-lock braking system. To check the ABS performance, contact a service station. The anti-lock braking system regulates the braking torque on the wheels to prevent them from locking up during heavy braking or during normal braking on slippery roads. The absence of blocking eliminates the need for complex maneuvering and skidding when braking. If a malfunction occurs, the ABS system is automatically disabled, while the vehicle's service brake system continues to function normally.
Attention: If the ABS malfunction indicator light comes on while the vehicle is moving, contact a service station to have the system repaired.
ESP Disable Indicator (if available)
The indicator turns on if the dynamic stabilization system is disabled (switch OFF position). The indicator warns the driver that the ESP system is not working.
To activate the dynamic stabilization system, press the ESP switch button again or start the engine.

Overdrive Disable Indicator (only for models with automatic transmission)
The indicator is on when the overdrive switch button is in the OFF position (turned off). See section «Starting the engine and driving».
The automatic transmission may go into emergency operation if the vehicle is driven in very difficult conditions, for example, when heavy wheel slip alternates with emergency braking. This occurs even if the electrical system of the automatic transmission is fully functional. In this case, proceed as follows. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and wait 3 seconds. Then turn the ignition key back to the ON position. The automatic transmission should return to normal operation. If the automatic transmission continues to be in emergency mode, contact a service station for inspection and repair.
Rear fog light indicator
The indicator lights up when the rear fog lamp is on.
SLIP indicator (if available)
This indicator flashes when the ESP system is active to alert the driver to driving on slippery roads when the vehicle's traction is limited.
The operation of the system may be accompanied by shocks or noise, which is not a sign of a malfunction.
The indicator flashes for a few seconds after the ESP system stops the partial blocking of the vehicle's wheels. The indicator turns on when the ignition key is turned to the ON position. If the system is OK, the indicator should turn off after approx. 2 seconds. If the indicator does not turn on, contact a service station to check the system.
Fog lamp indicator (if available)
The indicator turns on at the same time as the fog lights.
Indicator for headlights and side marker lights.
The headlight and side marker indicator lights up when the appropriate light switch position is selected. See below for more details. «Headlight, fog light and turn signal switch».
Turn signal and hazard warning indicator
The indicator flashes when the direction indicators and hazard warning lights are turned on.
High beam indicator
The indicator lights up after the high beam headlights are turned on. After switching the headlights to low beam, the indicator goes out.
Audible warning signals
Sound signal of not switched off lighting
The horn sounds when the driver's door is opened, unless the exterior lighting is switched off. In this case, the ignition key may be in the OFF or LOCK position. When leaving the vehicle, turn the light switch to the OFF or AUTO position (if available). See below for details. «Headlight, fog light and turn signal switch».
Left ignition key beep
The horn will sound if the key is left in the ignition and the driver's door is opened while attempting to set the door lock button to the LOCK position. The warning signal turns on after opening the driver's door if the system remote control is left in the passenger compartment «Intelligent Key» (if available), and the ignition switch is not in the LOCK position. When leaving the vehicle, remove the ignition key and take the remote control with you «Intelligent Key».
Parking brake reminder buzzer (if available).
The buzzer turns on if the vehicle starts to move if the parking brake is applied. Release the parking brake and only then start driving. See section «Preparing to start moving».
Sound signal of inclusion of indicators of turn of the trailer
The electrical system of the car registers the appearance of an additional electrical load when the lighting devices of the towed trailer and direction indicators are turned on. As a result, the tone of the sound accompaniment of the turn indicators changes.
