Removing
WARNINGS:
- Before removing the hub, disconnect the ABS sensor and move it to the side. Otherwise, the wires of the sensor may be damaged, which will lead to its inoperability.
- The hub bearing is maintenance free and must be replaced if the following symptoms are found:
- When moving, the hub bearing makes a dull thud.
- After tightening the hub nut to the required torque, the wheel seizes or rotates with uneven resistance when turning by hand.
1. Remove the brake caliper from the shoe guide.
2. Remove the hub nut.
3. Remove the brake disc (or drum).
4. Remove the wheel hub from the axle.
The brake hose can not be disconnected from the caliper. In this case, hang the caliper on the wire so that the hose is not stretched or twisted. Do not press the brake pedal after removing the caliper, otherwise the piston will come out of the cylinder.
Installation
Install the hub and tighten the nut to the specified torque. Apply oil to the axle threads and both sides of the thrust washer before tightening.
- Tightening torque of the hub nut 186-255 Nm
After tightening, check the smooth rotation of the bearing.
Check the axial clearance in the bearing. It should not exceed 0.05 mm.
