General procedures
Check the suspension parts for excessive play, wear and damage.
Rock the rear wheels in a vertical plane to reveal increased play.
Tighten all suspension mounts to the required torque (see fig. «Rear suspension device»).
Shock absorbers
Check shock absorbers for oil leaks and damage.
Hub bearings
Check the axial clearance in the bearings.
- Axial clearance - no more than 0.05 mm
Check the ease and smoothness of rotation of the bearings.
Check the tightening torque of the hub nut.
- Tightening torque of the hub nut - 186-255 Nm
Replace the rear stub bearing assembly if the axial clearance is not within the specified limits or the bearing rotates unevenly, with seizures and extraneous noise (see section «wheel hub»).
Rear wheel alignment
Collapse and convergence. These angles are set by the suspension design and cannot be adjusted during operation. Angles are given in section «Data for adjustments and control». If any of the angles is not within acceptable limits, it is necessary to check the suspension parts, replacing damaged or worn ones.
Before measuring the wheel alignment angles, it is necessary to perform the preliminary checks described in the corresponding section of the chapter «Front suspension».
The rear wheel toe-in is measured in the same way as for the front wheels.
