Note. All directions of rotation appearing in the text are assumed when looking at the engine from the front.
1. Remove the following parts:
Intake manifold.
Cylinder head cover.
Front cover and timing gear drive.
Note. It is not necessary to remove the balancing block.
2. Remove the camshaft position sensor (phase sensor) from the camshaft bracket.
Attention.
- Handle the camshaft position sensor (phase sensor) Be careful not to hit him.
- Do not disassemble the camshaft position sensor (phase sensor).
- Do not interfere with the camshaft position sensor (phase sensor) electromagnetic field.
3. Apply alignment mark (A) on the intake camshaft sprocket (2) and camshaft bracket (1), as it shown on the picture.
The arrow points towards the front of the engine.
Note. To prevent improper installation of the intake camshaft sprocket, there is a dowel pin on the shaft.
4. Remove intake sprockets (1) and graduation (2) camshafts:
Holding the camshaft by the hex part (A) wrench, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the sprocket.
Attention.
- Do not rotate the crankshaft or camshafts with the drive chain removed. This can cause the pistons to come into contact with the valves and damage them as a result.
- Do not loosen the sprocket mounting bolts by holding the camshaft by pulling on the drive chain or by anything other than the hex portion.
5. Remove the camshaft bracket:
Loosen the mounting bolts and reverse the order shown in the figure.
The arrow points towards the front of the engine.
Separate the parts by cutting the sealant with a special knife in the places indicated by the black arrows in the figure, and remove the camshaft bracket.
The white arrow points towards the front of the engine.
Attention.
- Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces.
- Sealant is applied in some places to meet certain operational needs and does not need to be removed, so the sealant should be cut only at the points indicated in the figure.
6. Remove camshafts.
7. Remove the valve lifters.
Note. It is necessary to arrange the pushers in the order of installation and take measures to prevent their entanglement.
8. If necessary, remove the impulse disk from the intake camshaft.
