Check after removal
Check drive chain link plates and rollers for cracks (A) n wear marks (IN). If necessary, replace the chain with a new one.
Check after installation
Carry out the procedure for checking the presence of utdchdk lubrication, operating fluids and exhaust gases:
Before starting the engine, check the levels of all operating fluids (engine oil, coolant, etc.). If necessary, bring fluid levels to normal.
Set the ignition switch to positive «ON» (nd starting the engine). Pressure will build up in the fuel lines, check for fuel leaks at the connections.
Start the engine. Increasing the engine speed, again check the presence of fuel in the connections.
But with the engine running, check for extraneous noise and vibration.
Note. Due to the drop in oil pressure in the chain tensioners during the removal/installation process, the tensioner guides may make rattling noises during and immediately after starting the engine. This is not a malfunction. The noise will stop after the pressure reaches the required level.
Warm up the engine thoroughly and check for fuel, engine oil or other operating fluids.
Remove air from hydraulic systems.
After the engine has cooled down, check the fluid levels again. If necessary, add fluid to the required level.
