Removal
1. Remove the steering knuckles from the vehicle, see above.
2. Remove the front exhaust pipe.
3. 4WD models: Remove the driveshaft from the vehicle.
4. Remove the electrical wiring clamps from the steering gear.
5. Remove the high and low pressure pipes from the steering gear.
6. Apply alignment marks to the steering gear and the lower joint. Then unscrew the steering gear clamp bolt and remove the lower joint.
7. Support the engine with a jack.
8. 4WD models: Remove the rear engine mount insulator mounting bolts and nuts.

9. Remove the central suspension beam from the vehicle, see chapter Mechanical part of the engine.
10. Remove the wishbones and pins from the suspension beam, see below.
11. Support the suspension beam with a jack, unscrew the beam mounting nuts and remove the bump stop limiters.
12. Slowly lower the jack and remove the beam from the car.
13. Remove the damper (only on models with SR20DE engine) from the beam.
14. 4WD models: Remove the rear engine mount insulator from the suspension beam.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
After installation, make final tightening of bolts and nuts with the vehicle unloaded and the tires on the ground. Check wheel alignment and bleed air from the steering system, see chapter Steering.
