Disassembly
1. Fix a rotary fist in a vise in a place of fastening of a rack. Press the wheel hub out of the steering knuckle using an impact tool (special tool) and nozzles (special tool).
Caution: When securing the knuckle in a vise, protect the contact surfaces of the post from damage by lining it with aluminum plates or other suitable devices.
2. Press the outer wheel bearing inner race out of the wheel hub using a suitable puller, drift (special tool) and bearing puller (special tool), as it shown on the picture.
3. Using a screwdriver or similar tool, remove the circlips from the inside and outside.
4. With a punch (special tool) press and press out the wheel bearing.
5. Fix a rotary fist in a vice. Press the mudguard out of the steering knuckle with a screwdriver and hammer.
Examination
Wheel hub
Check for damage, burning or corrosion on the wheel bearing. Also check for cracks in the wheel hub (staining test or other method). Replace defective parts if necessary.
Retaining rings
Check the circlips for wear or other damage. Replace if necessary.
Rounded fist
Check for deformation, cracks or other damage on the steering knuckle. Replace if necessary.
Assembly
1. Press the mudguard onto the steering knuckle using a suitable punch and tool.
Attention:
Do not reuse the mud shield.
Install the mud shield in the position shown in the figure.
Establish a rotary fist in a lock ring from the inside.
3. With a punch (special tool) press and press the wheel bearing into the steering knuckle.
Attention: Do not reuse the wheel bearing.
4. Establish a lock ring from the outside in a rotary fist.
5. With a punch (special tool) press and press in the wheel hub.
