If a new connecting rod is used
Select a connecting rod bearing that matches the journal diameter class of the crankshaft being used according to the section "Connecting rod bearing selection procedure", see below.

Cylinder block surface warping
Remove any traces of sealant, old gasket, oil, etc. from the contact surface of the cylinder block.
Attention:
Do not allow sealant residue to enter oil and water passages.
Check the cylinder block contact surface warpage in 6 different directions.
The source of the article is on the website [NissanBook.ru]

- Warpage Limit: 0.1mm
Inner diameter of main bearing housing
Install the main bearing caps without bearings and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
Using a bore gauge, measure the inside diameter of the main bearing housing.

- Standard diameter: 58.944-58.968 mm
If the diameter is different from the norm, replace the cylinder block and main bearing caps.
Note: The components listed cannot be replaced individually.
Clearance between piston and cylinder wall
Inner diameter of the cylinder
Using a bore gauge, check each cylinder for wear, out-of-roundness and taper in 6 different positions: along the X and Y axes at points A, B and C (top, center and bottom).

If the measured values exceed the specified values, or if there are scoring or burnt areas on the inner cylinder walls, perform cylinder honing.
There are pistons with an increased repair size (by 0.2 mm). When using a piston with an increased repair size, perform honing so that the clearance between the piston and the cylinder wall corresponds to the standard. In addition, use piston rings with an increased repair size that match the piston of the repair size.
Piston outer diameter
Using a micrometer, measure the outside diameter of the piston skirt.

- Measuring point: 45 mm down from the piston bottom
- Standard diameter: 85.980-86.010 mm
Calculating the clearance between the piston and the cylinder wall
Make calculations based on the piston skirt outside diameter and cylinder inside diameter values (x axis, point B).
(Gap) = (Cylinder diameter) - (Outside diameter of piston skirt)
- Standard clearance: 0.010-0.030 mm
If the clearance exceeds the norm, replace the piston and piston pin assembly.
