Shift lock system, lock cable removal and installation (Nissan Micra K12)

The AT mode switching lock and ignition switch lock provide the following:

• When the ignition switch is in the "ON" position, the selector lever cannot be moved out of the "P" position when the brake pedal is released;
• When the ignition key is removed from the lock, the selector lever cannot be moved out of the "P" position;
• The ignition key cannot be removed until the selector lever is in the "P" position.

Fastening the locking cable

1. Release the slider from the adjusting holder by squeezing the slider locking tabs.

2. Remove the cable housing from the bracket and disconnect the locking rod from the cable.



3. Remove the holder from the ignition lock cylinder and remove the cable.

4. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

5. After securing the cable to the ignition switch, set the switch to the "LOCK" position, and set the selector lever to the "P" position, and only then install the rod.
