Gear shift drive installation components
1. Remove the center console and gear shift boot (see Chapter Body).
2. Remove the gear shift lever assembly mounting bolts.
3. By pressing the release buttons, disconnect the cables from the manual transmission and gear shift lever assembly.
4. Remove the cables from bracket 1.
5. Remove the center muffler and heat shield.
6. Remove bracket 2 from the vehicle.
7. Remove the front and rear gear shift lever assembly holders and remove the gear shift lever assembly and cables from the vehicle.
8. If necessary, remove the gear shift knob by pulling it upward.
Once the handle has been removed, it cannot be reinstalled.
9. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
10. Make sure that the gear shift mechanism is working properly: all gears should engage clearly.
