Removing
1. Raise the car and remove the wheels.
2. Using a screwdriver with a flat blade, remove the lower trim of the luggage compartment.
Caution: To avoid damaging the components, wrap the tip of the screwdriver with a rag.
3. Turn off fixing nuts from the top party of the shock-absorber and remove a washer, the plug on top of the shock-absorber.
4. Roll the jack under the trailing arm of the rear suspension beam and support it. Loosen the bolts on the bottom of the shock absorber.
5. Remove the shock absorber from the vehicle.
Check after removal
Shock absorber
Check the shock absorber for deformation, cracks or damage and replace if necessary.
Check piston rod for damage, uneven wear or distortion and replace if necessary.
Check for oil leaks at welded or sealing areas and change if necessary.
Fender and bushing
Check the fender and bushing for cracks or damage and replace if necessary.
Installation
For tightening torques, see section «Components». Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
When installing the body side bushing, securely insert the tab into the hole on the vehicle side.
