Removal
1. Raise the vehicle and remove the wheels.
2. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, remove the lower luggage compartment trim.
Caution: To avoid damaging components, wrap the tip of the screwdriver in a cloth.
3. Unscrew the mounting nuts from the top of the shock absorber and remove the washer and bushing from the top of the shock absorber.

4. Roll the jack under the trailing arm of the rear suspension beam and support it. Unscrew the bolts from the bottom of the shock absorber.

5. Remove the shock absorber from the vehicle.

Check the shock absorber for deformation, cracks or damage and replace if necessary.

Check the piston rod for damage, uneven wear or warping and replace if necessary.
Check for oil leaks at welded or sealed areas and replace if necessary.
Bumper and bushing
Check the bump stop and bushing for cracks or damage and replace if necessary.
Installation
For tightening torques, see section "Components". Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
When installing the bushing from the body side, firmly insert the protrusion into the hole from the vehicle side.
