A single instrument control unit
The speedometer, odometer/odometer, tachometer and fuel gauge are controlled by a single unit built into the instrument cluster.
The control lamps and indicators of the instrument cluster are controlled by signals received via the CAN bus from the BCM (body control unit) and components directly connected to the instrument cluster.
The segments of the odometer / odometer, automatic transmission indicator can be checked in the self-diagnosis mode.
Meters/Indicators can be checked in self-diagnostic mode.
Speedometer
Shows vehicle speed.
The ABS control unit and actuator converts the pulse signal from the wheel sensors into a vehicle speed signal and transmits it to the instrument cluster via the CAN bus.
The instrument cluster converts the vehicle's speed signal into an angle and controls the speedometer.
Tachometer
Shows engine speed in rpm (rpm).
The ECM converts the signal from the crank angle sensor into an engine speed signal and sends it to the instrument cluster via the CAN bus.
The instrument cluster converts the engine speed signal into an angle and controls the tachometer.
Low coolant temperature indicator, high coolant temperature warning light
Shows the engine coolant temperature.
The ECM sends an engine coolant temperature signal to the warning light/indicator in the instrument cluster via the CAN bus.
When the ignition key is turned to position «ON» The engine coolant temperature warning light/indicator illuminates red for 1 second and then blue for 1 second.
Fuel gauge
Shows the approximate level of fuel in the fuel tank.
The fuel gauge is controlled by the instrument cluster and a variable resistor signal.
Odometer/odometer
The vehicle speed and memory signals from the meter memory circuit are processed in the instrument cluster and the mileage is shown on the display.
