2. Tension roller spring
3. Tension roller
4. Rear camshaft sprocket
5. Toothed pulley injection pump
6. Vacuum pump
7. Timing belt cover
8. Insulating sleeve
Removing
1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the air cleaner housing, air line and resonator.
3. Disconnect all hoses from the vacuum pump.
4. Turn away a bolt of fastening of a water tube under a cover of a gear belt of TNVD, then remove a tube.
5. Remove the toothed belt cover.
6. Set the piston of the 1st cylinder to the TDC of the compression stroke according to the marks on the crankshaft pulley (see section «Timing gear CD engines»).
Make sure that the alignment marks on the rear camshaft pulley and the injection pump pulley are located as shown in the figure.
7. Mark the toothed belt opposite the pulley alignment marks. Also note which side the belt is on.
8. Loosen the tension roller nut. Use a screwdriver to turn the roller in the direction of the arrow to release the tension.
9. Remove the vacuum pump.
10. Remove a gear belt.
Installation
1. Check if the piston of the 1st cylinder is at TDC of the compression stroke.
If the injection pump sprocket was removed, it must be installed as shown in the figure.
2. Put on a gear belt according to the labels made at removal. Install the vacuum pump along with the belt.
3. Adjust belt tension as follows:
- a) Loosen the tension roller nut, after which the belt will automatically be tensioned as required. Make sure the alignment marks are in the correct position (see point 6 of subsection «Withdrawal»),
- b) Rotate the crankshaft two turns. Do not rotate the crankshaft and camshaft pulleys.
- c) Tighten the idler nut while holding the idler with a screwdriver.
Belt tension - 98±49 Nm (10±5 kgf).
4. Install the toothed belt cover.
5. Install the rest of the removed parts in reverse order.
