Disassembly and assembly
Preparatory work
Remove the front cover, see the section "Timing chain" in the chapter "Engine mechanical part".
Installing the internal and external gear
Align the gears with the marks towards the oil pump cover.

Examination
Checking clearances in the oil pump area
Clearance between outer gear and front cover
Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap (1) between the outer gear and the front cover.

- Normal clearance: 0.114-0.200 mm
Clearance between the teeth of the outer and inner gears
Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap (2) between the teeth of the outer and inner gears.
- Normal clearance: less than 0.180 mm
Lateral clearance between front cover and outer and inner gear
Using a feeler gauge and ruler, measure the gap between the front cover and the outer gear (4) and the inner gear (3).

Normal clearance:
- Internal gear: 0.050-0.090mm
- External gear: 0.050-0.110 mm
Gap at the bottom between the front cover and the internal gear
Calculate the clearance at the bottom between the internal gear and the oil pump housing as follows:
Using a bore gauge, measure the inside diameter of the lower section of the oil pump housing (position 5).
Using a micrometer, measure the outside diameter of the bottom section of the internal gear (position 6).
(Gap) = (Inner diameter of the lower section of the oil pump housing) - (Outer diameter of the lower section of the internal gear)
