Removal
1. Remove the gearbox (see subsection 9.1) and clutch (see subsection 8.5).

2. Secure the flywheel from turning.
3. Loosen the bolts and carefully remove the flywheel.
4. If necessary, remove the reinforcement plate and pins.
Examination
1. If damage is found on the mating surface of the clutch disc, the flywheel should be replaced.
2. If the teeth are worn or lost, the ring gear should be replaced. It is recommended that the flywheel ring gear be replaced by a Nissan service center.
Installation
1. Install the guide pins and reinforcement plate.
2. Clean the mating surfaces of the flywheel and crankshaft.
3. Place the flywheel on the crankshaft and tighten the mounting bolts.
4. Secure the flywheel from turning and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
5. Install the clutch and gearbox.
