Oil pump parts
1. Front cover; 2. Driven cover; 3. Drive gear; 4. Screw; 5. Pump cover bolt; 6. Piston; 7. Spring; 8. Sealing washer; 9. Bolt
Removing
Remove front cover (see subsection 3.1.1.12).
Examination
1. Loosen screws and bolt.
2. Remove the pump cover from the back of the front cover.
3. Remove the oil pump gears (in the photo on the left is the driven gear, in the photo on the right is the drive gear).
4. Turn out a bolt, get a washer, a spring and the piston of the reducing valve, having paid attention to orientation of the piston.
5. Inspect pump gears, relief valve piston, check for signs of wear on these parts.
6. Install the gears in the front cover and check the clearances between the driven gear and the pump housing.
7. Check the gaps between the teeth of the driven and driving gears and the sickle insert.
8. Check the axial play of the driven and driving gears.
9. If you have the necessary tools, determine the clearance between the driven gear and the pump housing by measuring the diameters.
10. If there are signs of damage, or if any measured clearances are out of specification, replace the front cover.
11. If severe gear wear is detected, also check the condition of the bypass valve, for which unscrew the oil filter. Inspect the valve ball for signs of wear and freedom of movement. In case of jamming, replace the valve by pressing the valve out of the cylinder block and pressing in a new valve. Replace oil filter.
12. Lubricate the oil pump gears with fresh engine oil and install in the cover. The driven gear should be facing outwards.
13. Install the pump cover, tighten the bolt and screws to the specified torque.
14. Assemble the relief valve.
Installation
Install the front cover.
