Attention! See safety precautions in subsection 6.3.1 before starting work. If you think the injector is faulty, try cleaning it with an appropriate injector cleaner, such as Holts Redex Injector Treatment.
Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air filter housing (see subsection 6.3.1.2).
3. Follow the wire from the injector and disconnect the connection connector.
4. Release the pressure from the fuel system (see subsection 6.3.1.7).
5. Remove the two injector cap mounting screws, then remove the cap and gaskets.
6. Remove the injector from the throttle body and remove the sealing washers and gaskets.
Warning! The injector may be firmly seated in its socket. In this case, do not try to pull it out by the wires. Remove the upper part of the throttle body and push the injector out of the socket.
7. If the injector needs to be replaced, its wires must be released from the connection connector.
8. To do this, remove the retaining clip at the back of the connector, then use a small screwdriver to release the corresponding wires and push their terminals out of the connector.
9. Remember or mark the installation position of each wire in the connection socket and try not to damage the wire terminals when removing them.
10. If you do not want to disassemble the connection connector, the injector can be removed together with the idle speed increase device and the additional air supply valve.
Installation
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
12. When installing, please pay attention to the following points.
13. Install a new sealing washer and injector seals, as well as new gaskets for the injector cap.
14. When installing a new injector, insert the terminals of its wires into the corresponding sockets on the connection connector.
15. Make sure they are securely fastened, then install the retaining clip on the back of the connection socket.
10. Check that the wires are correctly positioned in the connection socket. If not, the injector will not work properly after connecting the connection socket.
