Note: After removal, only a new instrument cluster, i.e. one that has never been connected to the on-board network, may be installed.
Assembling the instrument cluster
Instrument cluster lamps and connector
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the upper section of the instrument panel, steering column covers and instrument cluster surround (see section Removal and installation of the instrument panel and its components).
3. Remove the screws and pull the combination out of the instrument panel.
4. Disconnect the electrical wiring connectors and remove the instrument cluster assembly completely.
5. If necessary, separate the front cover and upper casing from the instrument cluster assembly (see illustration Assembling the instrument cluster).
6. Replace the instrument cluster bulbs if necessary (see illustration Instrument cluster lamps and connector).
