SRS system components

1. Removal and installation of the driver's front airbag unit is described in Section Removal and installation the steering wheel, airbag unit and coil spring.
2. Removal and installation of emergency seat belt tensioners is described in Section Removal and installation front seat belts.
3. Before starting work, disconnect the negative and then the positive cable from the battery. Insulate the battery terminals and wait at least 3 minutes.
Note: Disassembly of airbag and curtain assemblies is not permitted.
Caution: Do not expose SRS components to temperatures above 90 degrees, or allow them to come into contact with oil, grease or water (for example, when falling) sRS system components need to be replaced.
4. Installation is carried out in reverse order, using new fasteners and tightening them to the required force.
Front passenger airbag unit
1. Remove the glove box together with the lid (see section Removal and installation of the instrument panel and its components).
2. Disconnect the airbag unit wiring connector and remove its fasteners.
3. Pull the airbag unit out of the instrument panel.
Side airbag units

1. Remove the relevant seat and its backrest (see section Removal and installation the front seat).
2. Disconnect the airbag unit wiring connector and remove its mounting nuts
3. Remove the airbag unit from the seat.
Inflatable Curtain Blocks
Fastening of the inflatable curtain block
1. Remove the ceiling trim (see section Removal and installation of other finishing panels).
2. Disconnect the inflatable curtain unit wiring connector.
3. Loosen the mounting bolts and release the inflatable curtain blocks from the clamps.
4. Remove the inflatable curtain unit.
Sensors
1. The location of the front impact sensor is shown in the illustration SRS Components. To remove it, loosen its mounting nuts.
2. To remove the side impact sensors, remove the appropriate seat belt, disconnect the sensor connector, loosen its mounting nut and remove the sensor.
Control unit
1. Disconnect the connectors of all airbag units and emergency seat belt tensioners (see section Removal and installation of the instrument panel and its components).
2. Remove the center console (see section Removal and installation of the instrument panel and its components).

3. Disconnect the SRS control unit connector, unscrew its ground bolt and mounting bolts, and then remove the control unit.
