Does engine braking slow down a car?
Yes - Proceed to step 5.
No - Continue road test.
5. Check downshifting (From "2 ₂ " TO "1 ₁ ")
Move the selector lever from position "2" to position "1" while driving in the "2 ₂ " range.
Using the CONSULT-II tester
Read the gear range.

Does the automatic transmission switch from "2 ₂ " to "1 ₁ "?
Yes - Proceed to step 6.
No - Continue road test.

Does engine braking slow down a car?
