Description
If a fault occurs in the electrical system, the "O/D OFF" indicator lights up for 2 seconds after turning the ignition key to the "ON" position. A signal is sent to start the self-diagnosis mode in order to find the faulty component. Then, the "O/D OFF" indicator flashes to display fault information, which can be used to locate the faulty component.
Diagnostic procedure
1. Check the "O/D OFF" indicator
1. Stop the car on a level surface.
2. Move the selector lever to position "P".
3. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position. Wait 5 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
Does the "O/D OFF" indicator (1) light for about 2 seconds?
Yes - Proceed to step 2.
No - Check the indicator.
2. Verification procedure - stage 1
1. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
2. Press the shift lock release button.
3. Move the selector lever from position "P" to position "D".
4. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
5. Press the upshift button until the "O/D OFF" indicator lights up for 2 seconds (the "O/D OFF" indicator lights up).
6. Press the upshift button and move the selector lever to position "2" (the "O/D OFF" indicator lights up).
7. Release the upshift button (the "O/D OFF" indicator lights up).
8. Move the selector lever to position "1" (the "O/D OFF" indicator lights up).
9. Press the upshift button (the "O/D OFF" indicator does not light).
10. Press the accelerator pedal all the way down while pressing the upshift button.
Proceed to point 3.
3. Check the self-diagnosis code
Check the "O/D OFF" indicator.

Interpretation of self-diagnostic codes
Open circuit in neutral-park position (PNP) switch, upshift button, closed throttle position or wide open throttle position signal or TCM is damaged. Since upshift button, closed throttle position or wide open throttle position signals are transmitted via CAN bus, the malfunction may continue after self-diagnosis
Low battery. Battery has been disconnected for a long time. Battery terminals are reversed.
(When reconnecting the TCM connectors - This is not a malfunction).
t ₁ =2.5 sec., t ₂ =2.0 sec., t ₃ =1.0 sec., t ₄ =1.0 sec.
Clearing self-diagnosis results
1. If the ignition key remains in the "ON" position after repair, turn it to the "OFF" position once. Wait at least 5 seconds and turn it to the "ON" position again
2. Perform the diagnostic procedure without using the CONSULT-II tester.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position. (In this case, the results of self-diagnosis are erased).
