3. Release the parking brake.
4. Push the car forward or backward.
Does the car move when pushed forward or backward?
Yes - Continue road test.
No - Go to step 4.

1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Start the engine.
3. Move the selector lever to the "N" position.
Release the parking brake Does the car move forward or backward?
Yes - Continue road test.
No - Go to step 5.
5. Check for shocks when shifting gears
1. Press the foot brake.
2. Move the selector lever to the "R" position (see fig.).
Is there a strong jolt when shifting from "N" to "R"?
Yes - Continue road test
No - Go to step 6.
6. Check the vehicle's movement
Release the foot brake for a few seconds.
Does the car move backward when you release the foot brake?
Yes - Proceed to step 7.
No - Continue road test.
7. Check the vehicle's movement
Move the selector lever to position "D", "2" and "1" and check if the vehicle moves forward.
