- Opening one of the side doors, hood or tailgate;
- Turning on the ignition without using a regular key;
- Any movement in the cabin (models with volume sensors).
The anti-theft alarm is activated when the car doors are locked. At the same time, the hood and all doors, including the tailgate, must be closed. Otherwise, when you try to activate the alarm, the buzzer will turn on.
When an alarm is triggered, the horn and direction indicators are switched on intermittently for approximately 38 seconds. Alarms will resume after 5 seconds if the cause of the alarm is still active. The alarm is deactivated when the locks are unlocked from the remote control, as well as when the key is inserted into the ignition lock and turned to the «ON».
Nissan engine immobilizer (NATS) reads the code of the key fob or key inserted into the ignition lock and compares this code with its internal code. If the codes do not match, the engine will not start.
If the original NATS key fails to start the engine, the reason for this may be the influence of other NATS keys or other devices located on the same bundle with the ignition key - try using the key separately. In this case, you can try to start the engine as described below.
Leave the ignition key or ignition switch in the «ON» for about 5 seconds, then move it to the position «OFF» or «LOCK» and again wait 5 seconds. Repeat the above procedure one more time and try to start the engine.
There is a warning lamp in the instrument cluster (K/L) NATS. K / L flashes if the key or ignition lock is in the position «LOCK» or «ACC», I testify to the presence of an anti-theft system on the car. In the event of a malfunction of the NATS system, the K / L will continue to burn while the ignition is on. If the C/L goes out after a long period (15 minutes), during which it burned, you can start the engine, but only once. In this case, you should immediately contact a Nissan workshop to check and repair the immobilizer.
