Removing the filter
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Stop the engine and wait at least 10 minutes.
3. Raise the vehicle with a garage jack and support it with jack stands.
Install safety stands under the vehicle jacking points.
4. Open the hood.
5. Place a container under the filter to collect the oil.
6. Use a filter puller to loosen the filter. A socket head puller may be required depending on the engine model. If necessary, contact a service station. Remove the oil filter.

7. Wipe the contact surface under the filter with a clean cloth.
Check that the used oil filter rubber seal that may be left on the engine has been removed.
Filter installation
1. Lubricate the rubber seal of the new oil filter with clean engine oil.
2. Screw on the oil filter until you feel a slight resistance, then tighten it 2/3 of a turn.
3. Check the oil level and top up if necessary.
4. Start the engine With the engine warm, check for oil leaks around the oil filter. Tighten if necessary.
5. Stop the engine and wait 10 minutes. Check the oil level and top up if necessary.
6. Lower the car.
7. Close the hood.
