Warning: Do not remove the key from the ignition while the vehicle is moving. If you remove the ignition key, the steering wheel will be locked. A driver deprived of steering will lose control of the vehicle.
The ignition lock includes an anti-theft steering lock.
The OFF position is between the LOCK and Asc positions. If the key is turned to the OFF position, the steering wheel is not mechanically locked
Manual Transmission (ITUC)
To lock the steering shaft, you need to turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position, remove the key from the lock and turn the steering wheel clockwise. To unlock the steering shaft, you need to insert the key into the ignition lock, apply a slight force to it clockwise and slightly shake the steering wheel in both directions.
The key can only be removed from the ignition in the LOCK position (normal parking position «0»).
Automatic transmission (AKP)
The design of the ignition lock on vehicles with automatic transmission is such that the key cannot be turned to the LOCK position and removed unless the selector is first placed in the P position.
When removing the key from the ignition switch in the LOCK position, first check whether the selector lever is in the P position. The selector lever can only be moved out of the P position if the ignition switch is in the ON position and the brake pedal is depressed.
To remove the key from the ignition:
- 1. Set the selector lever to position P.
- 2. Turn the key to the LOCK position
- 3. Remove the key from the ignition
The selector lever cannot be moved out of position P if the key is removed from the ignition switch.
If the key does not turn to the LOCK position, then to remove it from the lock, do the following:
- 1. Move the selector lever to position P.
- 2. Turn the ignition key slightly to the ON direction.
- 3. Turn the key towards LOCK.
- 4. Remove the key.

Ignition switch positions
LOCK (normal parking position) (0). The key can only be removed in this lock position. The steering shaft can only be locked in this position.
OFF (1). The engine is off, the steering shaft is not locked.
ACC (power supply for additional electrical equipment) (2). This position provides power to additional electrical devices, such as a radio, when the engine is not running.
ON (ignition on) (3). In this position, the ignition is switched on and power is supplied to all consumers.
START (Starter). The starter is turned on to start the engine. After the engine starts, immediately release the key, which will return to the ON position.
Anti-theft system NATS
Immobilizer NATS (anti-theft system NISSAN) automatically blocks the engine from starting when you try to start it with any key other than the standard NATS key specially programmed for your car.
If the engine cannot be started with the NATS key «Intelligent Key», turn the ignition key to the LOCK position, wait 5 seconds, and then turn to the START position to start the engine.
