Removing
Fully loosen the straps, referring to the section «Tension adjustment» above, and remove them one by one, starting from the front.
Installation
1. Put the belts on the pulleys in the reverse order of removal.
Attention:
- When putting on the belt, make sure that it sits correctly in the pulley groove.
- Keep oil, grease and engine coolant out of the pulley groove.
2. Adjust the tension of the belts
Attention:
- When measuring the belt tension immediately after installing it, first adjust it to the standard value. Then crank the crankshaft more than two turns and re-adjust to the standard value, eliminating the variation in the amount of belt deflection between the pulleys.
- Tighten the idler pulley locknut by hand and measure the tension without slack.
3. Torque lock nuts on adjusting bolts.
4. Make sure the belt tension is correct.
