1. Generator; 2. Water pump; 3. Crankshaft pulley; 4. Air conditioner compressor (on models with air conditioning); Idler pulley (on models without air conditioning); 5. Idler pulley; 6. Drive belt
Visually inspect belts for wear, damage or cracks on contact surfaces and edges.
Before checking, turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise twice and make sure that the tension on all pulleys is the same.
When measuring deflection, apply a force of 98 N (10 kg) at the point marked with the symbol ▼.
Measure belt tension and frequency with an acoustic tension meter at the point marked with the ▼ symbol.
Attention: When measuring tension and frequency, an acoustic tension meter should be used. When checking immediately after installing the belt, first adjust it to the standard value. Then, turning the crankshaft two revolutions or more, re-adjust the deflection to the standard value and eliminate the variation in the amount of belt deflection between the pulleys.
