Removing
1. Remove wheels. Disconnect the brake pipes and hoses, remove the parking brake cables and ABS sensor wiring from the trailing arms.
2. Remove the brake drums from the wheel hubs.
3. Remove the parking brake cables and brake shoes from the support shields.
4. Disconnect brake hoses from tubes.
Attention:
After disconnecting the hoses, do not allow brake fluid to enter the paintwork areas.
Do not depress the brake pedal after disconnecting the brake hoses.
5. Remove the ABS sensors from the trailing arms.
6. 4WD Models: Remove the breather hose from the rear final drive.
7. 4WD Models: Remove driveshaft.
8. Remove the exhaust pipe from the vehicle.
9. Jack up the rear suspension assembly, remove shock absorbers, trailing arm brackets, rear differential bracket (4WD models) and suspension beam.
Examination
Check for cracks, deformation or other damage on the rear suspension beam. Replace if necessary.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
Tighten the trailing arm bracket mounting bolts in the order shown in fig.
Attention: Tighten bolt 1 by hand, tighten bolts 2, 3 and 4 to the required torque. Then tighten bolt 1.
After installation, make the final tightening of bolts and nuts on an unladen vehicle with tires on the ground. Check wheel alignment and bleed air from brake system.
When installing the brake pipe bracket, do not deform it.
Pay attention to the following when installing the spring.
1) Align the protrusion of the spring seat and the hole of the trailing arm.
2) The mark on the spring should be pointing down.
3) Make sure the spring seats and spring seats are positioned as shown.
4) Make sure the rubber spring seats are positioned as shown in the illustration.
5) Align the centers of the spring and bracket.
6) Check the tightness of the spring seat and bracket.
