1. Raise the car. Connect oil pressure gauge (special tool) and adapter (special tool) between outlet fitting and high pressure hose. Then bleed the hydraulic circuit.
2. Start the engine and let it run until the oil temperature in the reservoir reaches 50-60°C.
Attention:
Leave the pressure gauge valve fully open when starting the engine and while it is running. If you start the engine with the valve closed, the pressure in the oil pump will increase, which will lead to pressure relief and an excessive increase in oil temperature.
When starting the engine, make sure that the hose does not touch the belt.
3. Completely close the pressure gauge valve with the engine running at idle speed. Measure the unloading pressure.
Standard unloading pressure:
- Models with SR20DE engine: 7.2-7.8 MPa (73-79 kg/cm2)
- Models with YD25DDTi engine: 8.62-9.22 MPa (88-94 kg/cm2).
After measuring, slowly open the valve.
Attention:
Do not close the valve for more than 15 seconds.
If the unloading pressure is abnormal, repair the oil pump, see below.
5. After checking, disconnect the oil pressure gauge from the hydraulic circuit. Perform a full system bleed, see above.
