Oil pump installation and assembly components
1 - Front cylinder block cover; 2 - Inner rotor; 3 - Outer rotor; 4 - Oil pump cover
1. The oil pump is built into the front cover of the cylinder block. Removal and installation of the front cover is described in Section Removal and installation the timing chain.
2. If it is necessary to disassemble or check the oil pump, remove its cover and take out the internal and external pump gears from the front cover of the cylinder block.
3. If necessary, measure the clearances between the rear plane of the front cover and the pump gears one by one. Measure the outer diameter of the internal gear protrusion and the inner diameter of the hole in the front cover. Calculate the clearance by subtracting the smaller value from the larger value.
4. Compare the obtained data with the requirements Specifications and, if necessary, replace the front cylinder block cover assembly.
