2. Remove the crankshaft pulley (see Section Removal and installation of the timing chain) and use a screwdriver to remove the oil seal from the front cover.
3. Lubricate new engine oil seal and press it flush with the outer edge of the front cover. Use a pipe with an outer diameter of 50 mm and an inner diameter of 44 mm.
Note. The orientation of the gland is shown in the illustration above.
4. Install the removed components.
5. To replace the crankshaft rear oil seal, remove the transmission assembly (see chapter Manual gearbox and clutch or automatic transmission).
6. On models with manual transmission, remove the clutch disc and basket (see chapter Drive shafts, steering knuckles and hub assemblies).
7. Remove flywheel or drive plate (see Section Oil pump service).
8. Remove the oil seal with a screwdriver.
9. Lubricate new oil seal and press it in using a pipe with an outer diameter of 102 mm and an inner diameter of 90 mm. The gland must not protrude from the body of its holder.
10. Install the removed components.
