P position
1. Set the selector to position P and start the engine. Stop the engine and repeat the procedure in all positions of the selector, including neutral.
2. Stop the car on a slight rise and set the selector to position P. Release the parking brake and make sure that the car remains stationary.
R-position
1. Move the selector from position P to position R and pay attention to the clarity of switching.
2. When reversing, check for slippage or other abnormal symptoms.
N-position
1. Move the selector from positions R and D to position N and pay attention to the clarity of switching.
2. Release the parking brake when the selector is in position N. Lightly depress the accelerator pedal. The car must not move. (If the vehicle is new or the clutches have recently been replaced, slow motion may occur. This is not a malfunction.)
Position D
1. Move the selector from position N to position D and pay attention to the clarity of switching.
2. While driving in D, determine the speeds at which the up and down shifts occur. This must be done at three different throttle positions (slightly open, half open and fully open). If the switching is accompanied by jerks, determine the moments when they occur.
3. Check if the lock works properly when driving in the appropriate gear and speed.
4. Verify that when the OD switch is set to the OFF position, upshifting is not possible.
5. Set the selector to position D3 drive at a speed of 60-70 km / h, pressing the accelerator pedal no more than halfway. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the shift from 3rd to 2nd gear has occurred.
6. Set the selector to position D2 and move at a speed of 25-35 km / h, pressing the accelerator pedal no more than half. Fully depress the pedal and check that the shift from 2nd to 1st gear has occurred.
Position 2
1. Move the selector to position 2 and make sure that the car moves off in first gear.
2. Increase the speed. The gearbox should shift to 2nd gear.
3. Continuing to increase speed, make sure that there is no further shift to 3rd gear.
4. Set the selector to position 2, and move at a speed of 25-35 km / h, pressing the accelerator pedal no more than half; Fully depress the pedal and check that the shift from 2nd to 1st gear has occurred.
5. Release the accelerator pedal to enter engine braking mode. Make sure the transmission is in first gear.
6. Set the selector to position D and at a speed of 30-40 km / h, move it to position 2. Make sure that the shift to 2nd gear has occurred.
Position 1
1. Set the selector to position 1 and accelerate the car. Make sure the transmission does not shift into 2nd gear when accelerating.
2. While driving in position 1, release the accelerator pedal. With scrap, engine braking should be clearly felt.
3. Set the selector to position D or 2 and at a speed of 15-25 km / h, move it to position 1. Make sure that the gearbox has switched to 1st gear.
Switching speeds
Before checking, warm up the oil in the gearbox to a temperature of 50-80°C, making about a 10-minute trip. Speed tables are given in the section «Data for adjustments and control».
