1. Remove rocker cover.
2. Measure the valve clearance as follows:
A. Set the piston of the first cylinder to the top dead center position of the compression stroke:
Rotate the crankshaft pulley (2) clockwise until TDC marks match (top dead center) (label without paint) (A) with pointer (1) on the front cover. white labels (IN) not used for engine maintenance.
At the same time, make sure that the lugs of the intake and exhaust cams of the first cylinder point outward, as shown in the figure.
1. Camshaft (inlet).
2. Camshaft (high school graduation).
The arrow shows the front of the engine.
If the cams do not point outward as shown in the figure, rotate the crankshaft pulley 360°once and install the cams as shown.
b. Using a set of flat feeler gauges (A), measure the clearance between the valve lifter and the camshaft.
Based on the figure below, measure the valve clearances in the places indicated in the figure by the arrows or marked with the icon «X» in the table.
With. Rotate the crankshaft pulley (2) for one turn (360°) until the TDC mark matches (top dead center) (label without paint) (A) with pointer (1) on the front cover. white labels (IN) not used for engine maintenance.
Based on the figure below, measure the valve clearances in the places indicated in the figure by black arrows or marked with the icon «X» in the table.
A: Cylinder 4 piston at top dead center on the compression stroke. The arrow shows the front of the engine.
3. If the measurement values are not correct, carry out the adjustment procedure.
Nominal valve clearance:
- Inlet: 0.30mm
- Exhaust: 0.33 mm.
