Removing
Petrol engine models
1. Loosen the adjusting screw and pump mounting bolts. Then remove the belt.
2. Turn off connecting bolts and disconnect hoses from the pump.
3. Turn off fixing bolts of an arm of the pump.
4. Remove the right drive shaft.
5. Remove the pump from the vehicle.
Diesel Models
1. Remove the right wheel, the right mudguard, the oil filter bracket from the engine, and the front exhaust pipe from the vehicle, see Sec. Lubrication system and cooling system.
2. Remove the steering pump removal cover and remove the sealant from the motor and cover.
Caution: Be careful not to damage the motor and cover.
3. Scroll the crankshaft pulley. Install the holder on the sprocket (special tool) and key (special tool). Secure the holder with the steering pump removal cover mounting bolts.
Attention: After installing the holder, tighten the cover bolts to the required torque.
4. Support the engine with a jack and unscrew the fixing bolts of the engine insulators.
5. Lower the jack, unscrew the pump sprocket fixing nut.
Caution: When lowering the jack, make sure that the engine does not touch other parts.
6. Turn off connecting bolts and disconnect hoses from the pump.
7. Remove the right drive shaft.
8. Turn off 2 fixing bolts of the pump and remove it from the engine.
Caution: Do not remove the sprocket holder from the engine (special tool).
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
Petrol engine models
After installation, adjust the belt tension, see Ch. Mechanical part of the engine.
After installation, bleed the system, see above.
Diesel Models
Do not remove the sprocket holder (special tool) until the pump is installed.
Insert the spline of the pump shaft into the sprocket, move the pump to the right and left, achieve full alignment and install the pump.
Before installation, apply sealant to the installation surface of the steering pump removal cover as shown in the figure.
After installation, bleed the system, see above.
