Front Disc Brakes — Removing and Installing the Brake Caliper Assembly (Nissan Note E11)

Removal

1. Remove the wheels from the vehicle.

2. Drain the brake fluid. See the "Draining and filling" section.

3. Loosen the connecting bolts and the caliper bracket mounting bolts and remove the brake caliper assembly.

Installation

Attention:

• Fill with fresh Nissan Genuine Brake Fluid or "DOT 3" or "DOT 4" (US FMVSS No.116).
• Do not mix brake fluid of different brands ("DOT 3", "DOT 4").
• Do not reuse drained brake fluid.

1. Install the brake caliper assembly onto the vehicle and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.

Caution: Before installing the caliper assembly, wipe off any oil or grease from the mounting surfaces of the nuts and washers and the caliper assembly.

2. Connect the brake hose to the caliper assembly and tighten the connecting bolts to the specified torque.

Attention:

• Do not reuse copper washers on connecting bolts.
• Connect the brake hose securely to the mounting hole on the cylinder body.

3. Fill with fresh brake fluid. See the section "Draining and filling".

4. Remove air. See the section "Bleeding the brake system".
