Vacuum hose
Attention:
- Since a stop valve is built into the vacuum hose, it must be installed in the correct direction. Follow the label. If the hose is connected incorrectly, the normal operation of the brake booster will be impaired.
- Insert the vacuum hose at least 24 mm deep.
- Do not use lubricating oil when assembling.
Vacuum pump
Refer to the ENGINE MECHANICAL chapter for removal and installation operations.
Examination
Visual check
Check that the assembly is correct and that there is no damage or wear.
Stop valve check
Leak test
Check with a manual vacuum pump.
When connected from the amplifier side (1): The vacuum reduction should be in the order of 1.3 kPa (10 mmHg Art.) for 15 seconds at -66.7 kPa vacuum (-500 mmHg).
When connected on the motor side (2): There shouldn't be a vacuum.
