Removal
Attention:
- Do not deform or bend the brake pipes when removing and installing the brake booster.
- Replace the pin if it is damaged.
- Be careful not to damage the brake booster stud threads. If you tilt it during installation, you may damage the threads on the bulkhead.
- Observe the installation direction of the stop valve.
1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster.
2. Remove the brake master cylinder. See section "Removal and installation".
3. Remove the cotter pin and remove the pin from the brake pedal and unscrew the lock nut from the interior side.
4. Remove the nuts from the brake booster and brake pedal assembly.
5. Remove the clutch master cylinder from the engine compartment side panel and move it to the side so that it does not interfere with work. See Chapter Clutch (models with manual transmission).
6. Remove the A/C low pressure hose bracket.
7. Remove the hood grille cover. See chapter Body.
8. Remove the brake booster assembly from the engine compartment.
Installation
1. Check the length of the push rod and make sure that the length is "B" (in the picture) equal to the specified value.
Standard length "B"
Left hand drive models: 158.25 mm
Right hand drive models: 115.35 mm
2. Install the brake booster on the vehicle.
Caution: Place a gasket between the booster assembly and the engine compartment bulkhead.
3. Connect the brake pedal using the push rod pin.
4. Install the mounting nuts onto the brake booster assembly and tighten to the specified torque. See Section "Removal and installation".
5. Install the master cylinder to the brake booster. See section "Removal and installation".
6. Install the clutch master cylinder. See chapter Clutch (models with manual transmission).
7. Install the A/C low pressure hose bracket.
8. Install the hood grille cover. See chapter Body.
9. Remove air. See section "Bleeding the brake system".
