The following tables provide a maintenance schedule under normal operating conditions. Additional or more frequent maintenance may be required depending on weather and atmospheric conditions, road surface conditions, individual driving style and vehicle handling.
Periodic maintenance after the last interval specified in the tables is carried out in a similar manner.
Engine and emission control system maintenance (cR engine) (Annual mileage less than 30,000 km)
Note: Check components marked with an asterisk (*) more frequently in accordance with the section "Heavy duty maintenance"
(1) No periodic maintenance is required. However, if valve knocking becomes more severe, check the valve clearances.
(2) Replace drive belts if damage is found.
(3) Initially replace at 100,000 km/60 months, then every 60,000 km/36 months. Perform "P" procedure (checking the ratio of the mixture components and adjusting it if necessary) in the middle of the replacement interval.
(4) Fuel filter - maintenance-free type. For maintenance procedures, refer to chapter Accelerator, fuel system and exhaust system.
(5) Perform only in accordance with the "Severe Duty Maintenance" section on models without Euro-OBD. No periodic maintenance is required on models with Euro-OBD.
Chassis and body maintenance (cR engine) (Annual mileage less than 30,000 km)
Note: Components marked with an asterisk (*) should be inspected more frequently in accordance with the Severe Service section.
(1) Check once a year
Engine and emission control system maintenance (hR engine) (Annual mileage less than 30,000 km)
Abbreviations:
- P = check and correct or replace, respectively;
- 3 = replace;
- [] = Only by mileage.
Note: Check components marked with an asterisk (*) more frequently in accordance with the section "Heavy duty maintenance"
(1) No periodic maintenance is required. However, if valve knocking becomes more severe, check the valve clearances.
(2) Replace drive belts if damage is found.
(3) Initially replace at 90,000 km/60 months, then every 60,000 km/40 months.
Chassis and body maintenance (hR engine) (Annual mileage less than 30,000 km)
Abbreviations:
- P = check and correct or replace, respectively;
- 3 = replace.
Note: Check components marked with an asterisk (*) more frequently in accordance with the section "Heavy duty maintenance"
(1) Check once a year
Maintenance in harsh operating conditions (Annual mileage less than 30,000 km)
The service intervals listed above are recommended for normal driving conditions. If you drive your vehicle primarily under the severe driving conditions listed below, the following components will require more frequent service.
Severe operating conditions:
- A - Driving in dusty conditions
- B - Multiple short trips
- B - Towing a trailer or van
- G - Continuous operation in idle mode
- D - Driving in adverse weather conditions or in areas where the ambient temperature is extremely low or high
- E - Driving in areas with high humidity or in the mountains
- G - Driving on roads covered with salt or other corrosive materials
- 3 - Driving on rough terrain and/or on muddy roads or in the desert
- I - Driving with frequent braking or in mountainous areas
Engine and emission control system maintenance (cR engine) (Annual mileage over 30,000 km)
Abbreviations:
- P = check and correct or replace, respectively;
- 3 = replace.
Note: Check components marked with an asterisk (*) more frequently in accordance with the section "Heavy duty maintenance"

(4) Fuel filter - maintenance-free type. For maintenance procedures, see chapter Accelerator, fuel system and exhaust system.
(5) Perform only in accordance with the "Severe Duty Maintenance" section on Euro-OBD base models. No periodic maintenance is required on Euro-OBD models.
Chassis and body maintenance (cR engine) (Annual mileage over 30,000 km)
Abbreviations:
- P = check and correct or replace, respectively;
- 3 = replace.
Note: Check components marked with an asterisk (*) more frequently in accordance with the section "Heavy duty maintenance"
