- When carrying out work in the service station room, hang a sign «FLAMMABLE».
- Work in a well ventilated area. Always have a CO2 fire extinguisher handy.
- Do not smoke while servicing the fuel system, do not make open flames or produce sparks.
Use gasoline with the required octane rating.
Perform the following steps before removing fuel line components:
- Pour the drained fuel into a non-explosive container and close the lid tightly. Move the container to a safe place.
- Relieve the fuel pressure in the fuel line. See chapter Engine management system.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
Always replace O-rings and clamps with new ones.
To avoid damage to the hoses, do not overtighten the clamps.
Do not pinch or twist the tubes when connecting them.
Carry out work on level ground.
Tighten the clamp of the high pressure rubber hose so that the end of the clamp is 3 mm from the end of the hose.
The tightening torques are the same for all rubber hose clamps.
Make sure the screws do not touch adjacent components.
After connecting the pipes, start the engine and check that there are no fuel leaks at the joints.
Maintenance operations for the components of the evaporative emission system, see chapter Engine management system.
